Safety and Health Training For OSHA Compliance

10 Hour General Industry

The 10-Hour course is a two day seminar intended to provide a variety of general industry safety and health training to workers of all levels. Required training will include 6+ hours of the following topics including An Introduction to OSHA, Walking and Working Surfaces, Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans and Fire Prevention, Electrical, Personal Protective Equipment, and Hazard Communication, An additional 4+ hours of instruction will include, but are not limited to Hazardous Materials (Flammable and Combustible Liquids), Materials Handling Machine Guarding, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Full Protection. Successful completion will result in the issuance of a certificate and a 10-Hour OSHA card.

30 Hour General Industry

The OSHA 30-hour course is an additional three day seminar designed to instruct Attendees in becoming OSHA Outreach Trainers. Participation in the 30 hour training is limited to those who have attended the 10 hour training taught by Ron Gacek in the past 6 months. Required topics will include an Introduction to OSHA, including the OSHA Act and General Duty Clause, General Safety and Health Provisions, Competent Person, and Recordkeeping, totaling a minimum, but limited to four hours of instruction. Additionally, a minimum of six topics adding up to 14+ hours of instruction will come from Occupational Health and Environmental Controls with an emphasis on Hazard Communication, Health Hazards in Construction, PPE and Lifesaving Equipment, Fire Protection and Prevention, Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal, Hand and Power Tools, Cutting and Welding, Scaffolds, Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators and Conveyors, Motor Vehicles, ROPS, and Signs/Signals. Concrete and Masonry Construction, Steel Erection, Stairways and Ladders, and Confined Space Entry. Successful completion will result in the issuance of a certificate and a 30-Hour OSHA card.

10-Hour Construction Workers Safety Health Training

Construction workers can receive safety and health training. This low-cost OSHA training offered for construction workers will enable attendees to obtain their 10 Hour OSHA Construction Card. The training is conducted by Ron Gacek, MS, an OSHA-qualified instructor from the West Virginia Division of Labor’s OSHA Consultation Program and will cover confined space entry, fall protection, scaffolding, cranes and rigging, electrical, excavation, hazard communication, and more.

Hazard Communication

This one day workshop will explain the purpose of the Hazard Communication standard, describe the requirements for a written Hazard Communication program, discuss methods for labeling chemicals and other forms of warnings to employees, review how to read a MSDSs, training requirements, and explain both employer and employee responsibilities under the Hazard Communication standard. A certificate will be issued following successful completion of the course.

This one day workshop will focus on the control of hazardous energy. This course will establish the requirements for the isolation of both kinetic and potential electrical, chemical, thermal, hydraulic, pneumatic, and gravitational energy prior to equipment repair, adjustment or removal. Writing Your Safety Health Plan

There is a strong correlation between the application of sound safety and health management systems and a low incidence of occupational injuries and illnesses. Where effective safety and health management is practiced, injury and illness rates are significantly less than rates at comparable worksites where safety and health management is weak or non-existent. This class will teach the principles of the 1989 Safety and Health Program Management Guidelines, direct participants toward tools to help them develop a safety and health management system and provide them with methods to effectively implement their program. Any company interested in pursuing OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) is encouraged to attend.
